Linda PedersEn Park again safe for swimming
The advisory issued last week on the swimming area at Linda Pedersen Park has been lifted. Bacterial test results received by the Hernando County Health Department indicate the water quality is now in the acceptable range. The park is at 6400 Shoal Line Blvd. For information, call Albert Gray, environmental manager for the Health Department, at 540-6802.
BROOKSVILLE
Hazardous waste dropoff Saturday
Household hazardous waste will be collected from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the south entrance to the Hernando County Fairgrounds, 6436 S Broad St. EQ of Florida Inc. will accept the waste from Hernando County residents and small businesses. There is no charge to residents. Businesses pay at the same rate as the county's contract, with payment due to EQ at the time of service. For information, call Jeff Howley at 754-4906.
