Marine Corps Pfc. Richard R. Cochrane recently graduated from USMC recruit boot camp at Parris Island, S.C.

During 13 weeks of training, Cochrane studied the Marine Corps history, traditions and core values, learned customs, courtesies and teamwork, and mastered obstacle, confidence and assault courses. He was in the top 10 percent in swim qualifications, earned a marksman's ranking in field training exercises and learned Marine Corps martial arts.

Cochrane is the son of Debra A. Cochrane of Clearwater and Edward R. Cochrane of New Port Richey. He is a 2007 graduate of Largo High School.
