Reception today: A reception for sculptor Vahak Sarkis from 5 to 7 p.m. today will open Sarkis' exhibit at the Pasco Arts Council's art center, 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. The exhibit continues through Nov. 10. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Free.
Comic opera: Centennial Opera Groupwill show the video of Johann Strauss' comic romp Die Fledermaus (The Bat) at 12:30 p.m. today at Centennial Park Library, 5640 Moog Road, Holiday. The production was filmed in Covent Garden and is by the Royal Opera House chorus and orchestra. Stars include Nancy Gustafson, the late Luciano Pavarotti and Dame Joan Sutherland. Free.
