WESLEY CHAPEL - Zephyrhills rolled into Wiregrass Ranch Stadium and spoiled Wiregrass' first Homecoming game, defeating the Bulls 35-14. Zephyrhills combined a steady running game and consistent passing game for 395 yards of offense. Wiregrass took the lead in the first quarter, recovering a backward lateral pass from Zephyrhills quarterback Tyler Guy to Chris Henry. Wiregrass defensive back Angel Rodriguez returned it 24 yards for the touchdown. The Bulldogs (5-2, 3-0) answered by scoring three straight touchdowns, highlighted by an 86-yard touchdown sprint from Henry. Henry lead Zephyrhills in yards by carrying 11 times for 156 yards. Guy completed 11-of-20 for 137 yards and a touchdown. Wiregrass (0-7, 0-3) could not get its passing game going as Rodriguez was harassed all night, only completing 5-of-17 for 75 yards and an interception. Bulls fullback Chris Lewis had the longest offensive gain of the game for Wiregrass as he took the handoff and scored on a 80-yard run. Lewis finished with 78 yards on seven carries.
