Bradenton Chr. 20, Canterbury 18

LAKEWOOD RANCH - Bradenton Christian survived a furious rally and held on to win its homecoming game Friday night. Late in the fourth quarter on a fourth-down play from the Panthers' 28, Canterbury quarterback Brandon Hamilton kept the ball on a bootleg to the right side, going all the way in for the score while leaping over two Bradenton defenders at the goal line. Hamilton brought the Crusaders to within two when he connected with Johnny Lancaster on a 22-yard strike, but the Panthers stopped Joey Cuda a foot short of the goal line on the two-point attempt. Canterbury forced Bradenton to punt on the ensuing possession and got the ball back on their own 25 with just over a minute to play. Hamilton led the Crusaders to the Panthers' 24, but the potential game-winning field goal was blocked by Colson Vautrinot. The Herald
