With playoff implications on the line, Durant (4-4, 1-1) was able to hold off the rushing attack of Sarasota Riverview (1-7, 1-1) running back Robert Glinton just enough to come away with the big win.
Sarasota began the game with a drive to the Durant 12 yard line, but an interception by Jeremiah Thomas and a 65-yard return set up Marshon Shoemake's (19 carries 62 yards) 6-yard touchdown run five plays later.
Sarasota tied the score on a six yard Robert Glinton run. Glinton finished the game with 123 yards on 21 carries and a touchdown.
Durant took a 14-y halftime lead, thanks to a 12-play, 70-yard drive capped by a 5-yard run by Jeremy Fussell (15 carries 78 yards) with 30 seconds to go in the second quarter.
Sarasota responded with a 32 yard touchdown catch by Dan Joseph to once again knot the score, 14-14.
After the teams traded turnovers at midfield, Durant once again put together a long drive, this one a 12-play, 53-yard march that was capped off by a 13-yard touchdown catch by Taylor Gimmel for what proved to be the winning points.
The teams combined for 341 yards rushing and 447 total yards.
