Lennard entered Friday's game against Lake Placid winless, but left the field with such elation as if they had just won a state title. The Longhorns offense looked strong from the opening kickoff, propelling them to their first victory. Quarterback Andrew Burdick threw for 154 yards including two touchdown passes to receiver Blake Kennedy. Freshman Tevin Abbney led Lennard with 103 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Brandon Stephens led a defense that held Lake Placid to 74 yards. "It finally feels good to get a win. Our kids play so hard every week and I'm real happy for them," Lennard coach Jim Wilt said. Turnovers haunted Lake Placid throughout the night, as an interception that appeared to shift the momentum in the Dragons direction ended up right back in Lennard's possession as the second quarter ended. Lake Placid's Chevontray Wilson gained some big yards rushing as well as took some snaps at quarterback, but that wasn't enough to deter Lennard from achieving their first win in school history.
