Ukrainian Catholic picnic is today

SPRING HILL

The St. Andrew Ukrainian Catholic Church Fall Picnic is scheduled to begin at noon today at 8064 Weeping Willow St.

Music will be provided by Kathy. Food will include grilled kielbasa, hot dogs, stuffed cabbage, pierogi, kapusta, salads and desserts. Coffee and soda are included. The cost is $12.50 per person. For tickets, call Alyce at 688-1839.

BROOKSVILLE

Join Elks for dinner, drinks and dancing

Brooksville Elks Lodge 2582 will host its Fall Ball on Saturday at the lodge, 14494 Cortez Blvd., west of Brooksville.

Cocktails will be at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m., followed by dancing. The menu choice is roast pork or chicken. Mike and Lorri Hafer will provide big-band sounds, including standards and jazz.

The dress code is casual. Tickets are $12 each and must be purchased by Monday. Call Rose Ludnick at 684-9154.

Code compliance to be discussed

The Hernando County Development Services will conduct a code compliance review meeting at 9 a.m. Nov. 1 at Hernando County Engineering Department, 1525 E Jefferson St.

On the agenda: Brooksville Medical Plaza buildings 17, 18 and 19; Brooksville Transmission, Pit Stop Lounge, Regent Oaks, Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Nguyen Office and Walgreen's at Northcliffe and Mariner boulevards.

Temple Beth David hosts Night at Races

Temple Beth David will host the fourth annual Night at the Races on Nov. 3 at the temple, 13158 Antelope St.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Post time is at 7:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded and food will be available. Tickets are $5 each, and includes coffee, cake and snacks.
