Halloween events

Fall festival: At Our Lady of Lourdes School, 750 San Salvador Drive, Dunedin, noon-5 p.m. today. Midway rides and games, a flea market, an Octoberfest tent, entertainment, crafts boutique, plants and sports memorabilia auction. Free admission, though there's a fee for rides, games and food. Pint-size pumpkin patch: Bring the little ones to a pre-Halloween party just for them 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Largo's Southwest Recreation Complex, 13120 Vonn Road. The event includes make and take crafts, food projects, fall carnival games, costume parade and a storytelling area with a friendly scarecrow. Wristbands $8, children under 2 free. Back to nature: All ages can celebrate Owl-O-Ween among nocturnal friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at McGough Nature Park, 11901 146th St. N, Largo. Learn about owls, take a night hike and roast s'mores. $4 per person. Call (727) 518-3047 to register.

Barkoween: Bring your dog in costume to compete for the titles of scariest, funniest, most original, cutest and best look-alike 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Belleview Biltmore, 25 Belleview Blvd., Belleair. Haunted house: Dare to be scared at the haunted house event 7-9 p.m. Thursday and Friday and free 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. during the Safety Fair Saturday at the Tarpon Springs Community Center and Gymnasium, 400 S Walton Ave. Not suitable for children under 8. Halloween in the Park: All ages will enjoy interactive games and activities, haunted trails, spooky storytelling, games, food and fortune-telling 6-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Honeymoon Island State Park, No. 1 Causeway Blvd., Dunedin. Costumes are not required, but comfortable shoes, insect repellent and a small flashlight are encouraged. $10 donation per carload.

Pumpkin carving: Bring your own pumpkin, pick up a carving kit for $5 then sip on apple cider and munch on treats as you create a Halloween masterpiece. 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday at Largo's Highland Complex, 400 Highland Ave. Call (727) 518-3016.

Parent's Night Out: Children in kindergarten through eighth grade can enjoy ghostly crafts, the Frankenstein boogie, pizza and ghoulish prizes 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday at the Morningside Recreation Center, 2400 Harn Blvd., Clearwater. $6 with Play Pass, $8 with rec card, $10 without. Halloween fun: Lakeside Community Church, 375 East Lake Road, Tarpon Springs, invites all to a Fall Festival 6-8 p.m. Friday. The event includes a petting zoo, games, trick or treat, hayrides, cakewalk, and free cider and popcorn. Call (727) 942-0229.
