Workshop addresses blueprint for the city

"The Comprehensive Plan: A Blueprint for the Community" is the topic of a Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce workshop from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the chamber's office, 151 Third St. NW.

The workshop is part of the city's process to update its comprehensive plan, which is required every seven years based on issues identified in the Florida State Evaluation and Appraisal Report.

Hearings by the Largo Planning Board and City Commission will follow next spring to allow time for a state review before the September 2008 update deadline. To register, call the chamber at 584-2321 or e-mail tom@largochamber.org

Chamber reminds you: vote Nov. 6, or earlier

The Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce is asking residents to vote Nov. 6. Or, skip the long lines and cast your ballot early.

The city of Largo has two hotly contested City Commission races and several charter amendments that need to be decided. Policies that affect Largo residents and businesses will be shaped by the election outcome, so every vote counts.

Early voting is available Monday through Nov. 3 at all supervisor of elections offices. Early voting hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.For more information, call 727 464-3551 or visit www.votepinellas.com.

Visit new Web siteand share your views

The Largo/Mid-Pinellas Chamber of Commerce invites you to visit its new Web site at www.largochamber.org. It features links to chamber businesses as well as city and county links.

The site is a work in progress, and the chamber staff is eager to know what the community thinks. One new service under the Business Directory link allows visitors to view and print a map leading to the business location. Other new features include the chamber's monthly newsletter and a "What's Hot" link.

The chamber has also changed its office e-mail address to info@largochamber.org Other staff addresses can be found on the Web site.
