If you're looking for some Halloween fun, there are plenty of events this year to delight princesses and goblins alike.
Thursday
Halloween Spooktacular: 6 to 9 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park, 14333 Hicks Road, Hudson. Phone (727) 861-3033. Carnival games, moonwalks and spooky fun for all ages. Free.
Friday
Fall Festival: 5 to 8 p.m. at Odessa Park, 1627 Chesapeake Drive, Odessa. (813) 926-1141. An event for the entire family; come in a costume if you like. Games, crafts, moonwalks, popcorn and more. Free.
Halloween Party in the Park: 7 to 9 p.m. at Shady Hills Community Center, 15840 Greenglen Lane, Shady Hills. (727) 856-7831. Games, refreshments, music with a DJ and a few spooky surprises. All ages welcome; children younger than 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost: Free.
Friday- Saturday
Scream Acres: 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park, 10500 Wilderness Park Road, New Port Richey. (727) 834-3262 or (727) 834-3247. Eight cabins are converted into haunted houses, plus spooky trails with surprises behind every tree. For kids younger than 16 (must be accompanied by an adult). Free.
Saturday
New Port Richey Halloween: 6 to 8 p.m. at the New Port Richey Recreation Center, 6630 Van Buren St., New Port Richey. Phone (727) 841-4560. Haunted house, trick-or-treat candy bags and games. Free.
