Day's events will focus on violence

NEW PORT RITCHIE The Women's Resource Group of Pasco-Hernando Community College West Campus will host a Domestic Violence Awareness Event from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in front of the Performing Arts Center. Guest speakers, information, refreshments and music are included. The public is invited to participate in a candlelight vigil honoring survivors and victims. Call Joan at (727) 856-7064. DADE CITY Homeless plan to be aired Tuesday Denny Mihalinec, a longtime community activist from Trilby, will present his plan to help the area's homeless at 8 a.m. Tuesdayat the Pasco County Courthouse in Dade City. Mihalinec wants to open Journey Village, a transitional housing center where the homeless could live cheaply and save up for an apartment or affordable home. Rep. Will Weatherford, R-Wesley Chapel, and County Commissioner Ted Schrader both said they plan to attend.
