You didn't see Halle Berry sticking her foot into her mouth on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, but the actor herself told the New York Post's Page Six she was sorry over telling an anti-Semitic joke while taping an interview last Friday. Halle kicked off her bit by showing off goofy pics of herself altered by Mac's Photo Booth. Then hilarity didn't ensue. "She introduced the first photo by saying, 'Here's where I look like my Jewish cousin!' - it was a picture of her with a huge, distorted nose," an audience member told Page Six." No one laughed, and Jay nervously said, "I'm glad you said that and not me." When the show aired, they cut out her "Jewish" comment and added a laugh track to the bit. (Watch video of the doctored interview at blogs.tampabay.com/juice.) Berry called the Post to explain herself, saying, "I so didn't mean to offend anybody - and after the show I realized it could be seen as offensive, so I asked Jay to take it out, and he did."
Slater bags Refaeli
Surfer Kelly Slater has a budding career as Leonardo DiCaprio's garbageman. Slater has hooked up with Leo's latest ex, model Bar Refaeli, who was DiCaprio's rebound from Gisele Bundchen, who went out with Slater after she and the movie star broke up. So while Leo was looking for love last weekend at the after-party for the skateboarding saga Nothing But the Truth and Gisele was in Miami while beau Tom Brady was leading his New England Patriots over the Dolphins, Slater was being arrested in Israel for fighting with local paparazzi. It seems the persistent pic-takers were trying to shoot Refaeli and Slater leaving a hotel in a Tel Aviv suburb and he didn't care for it. The AP reports Slater was taken in for questioning - probably about how a loser like him can score so many hot babes - and then let go.
LL Cool J at the Trop
If you were thinking about going to Wild 98.7's Last Damn Show 9 to catch T.I., you can forget all that. Not only is the rapper facing federal gun charges (and serious time), he's no longer headlining the annual show. But kickin' it old school is LL Cool J, who is joining the lineup as the new main event, the station's Web site says. He'll be a part of a group that includes Lil Wayne, Fabolous, Three 6 Mafia and Plies. Don't forget that the show has moved to Nov. 2, but it's still at the Trop. Tickets are still available at the Trop's box office or through Ticketmaster (with an added inconvenience fee).
