Eckerd College 4200 54th Ave. S St. Petersburg, 864-7979 Composer David Amram will be the special guest at a Jazz/Poetry Reading from 7:30 to 10 p.m. today at Triton's Pub. Amram will show his short film, Pull My Daisy, which he made with Jack Kerouac, and then join students and guests in a poetry reading, with the Eckerd Jazz Ensemble and guest musicians accompanying. Farid Esack, South African Muslim theologian and visiting professor of Islamic studies at Harvard Divinity School, will speak on An Islamic Perspective of Interreligious Solidarity Against Oppression at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Fox Hall. "War Paint," an exhibit about the absurdity of war, will open with a reception from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Elliott Gallery. The show will be on display through Nov. 21 with a gallery talk at 3 p.m. Nov. 7. Regular gallery hours are 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
