Halloween events

Pint-sized pumpkin patch: Bring the little ones to a pre-Halloween party just for them 6-8 p.m. today at Largo's Southwest Recreation Complex, 13120 Vonn Road. The event includes make and take crafts, food projects, fall carnival games, costume parade and a storytelling area with a friendly scarecrow. Wristbands $8, children younger than 2 free. Back to nature: All ages can celebrate Owl-O-Ween among nocturnal friends 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at McGough Nature Park, 11901 146th St. N, Largo. Learn about owls, take a night hike and more. $4 per person. Call (727) 518-3047 to register.

Barkoween: Bring your dog in costume to compete for the titles of scariest, funniest, most original, cutest and best look-alike 5:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Belleview Biltmore, 25 Belleview Blvd., Belleair. Halloween Spooktacular: This popular annual event runs from 4 to 10 p.m. Saturday in Largo Central Park, 101 Central Park Drive, and offers inflatables, rock-climbing walls, super slides, games, food, music and movies, and a free trick-or-treat path that circles the park.
