man accused of sex assault on 3-year-old
The man is 27. The girl is 3. And authorities say he touched and kissed her in a sexual manner. David Anthony Bellina, a drywall worker who lives in Hudson, was arrested Monday and charged with capital sexual battery. The report from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office does not make clear his relationship to the girl, nor does it say exactly when and where the incident took place. Bellina was held without bail Tuesday at the Land O'Lakes jail.

Man in canoe falls into water, dies
Pasco authorities are investigating an apparent accident that killed a man Tuesday afternoon in a Seven Springs neighborhood. According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, a man in his 50s and two friends were in a canoe headed to a small island in Veterans Village. As they were paddling back, the man fell into the water behind a house at 3425 Van Nuys Loop. Friends tried to rescue him and attempt CPR, but they couldn't revive him. Someone called Pasco County Fire Rescue around 1:47 p.m. The man's name is being withheld until his relatives are notified. His death didn't appear to be suspicious, and his exact cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner.

Get herb-growing tips from a master
Come to the Pasco County master gardener Saturday seminar and hear B.J. Jarvis, director and horticulture agent of County Cooperative Extension Office, give a presentation on growing herbs. Betsy Crisp, family and consumer sciences extension agent, will follow with a demonstration on cooking with herbs. Parking is free; coffee and light refreshments, educational handouts and door prizes will be offered. The Land O'Lakes Garden Club will meet at 10 a.m. Nov. 13 at the Land O'Lakes Community Center on U.S. 41. Peggy Gretchen, certified master gardener, will be doing a PowerPoint presentation on "Landscaping and Gardening with Florida Native Plants."
