Students will dress the part at fair

WIDER HORIZONS SCHOOL
The annual Biography Fair is 8:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday. Students dress as characters in history. All students, primary grades through high school, participate and are graded by judges, who are community leaders. The Biography Fair has been conducted at Wider Horizons School for more than 20 years. The school is at 4060 Castle Ave., Spring Hill.
MOTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Dates set for Spirit Night, Skate Night
Spirit Night is 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 9 at Chick-fil-A.
Skate Night is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at Rainbow Rollerland.
HERNANDO CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Homecoming danceon tap for Saturday
The Homecoming Dance is Saturday in the gymnasium. Single tickets are $15, $25 for couples. The theme is "An Escape to Neverland." The time will be announced. Call 796-0616.
WESTSIDE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
FCAT workshop for parents tonight
The FCAT and Your Child workshop for parents of third- to fifth-graders is at 6:30 tonight in the music room. Child care will be provided upon request. For information, call 797-7080, ext. 255.

Parent orientations set for enrollment
Parent orientation meetings are set for potential enrollment for the 2008-09 school year. Parents who submit applications for the first time must attend one of these orientations, and applications will be collected at the end of the meetings. Meetings will be 5 or 6 p.m. Nov. 6 and 5 or 6 p.m. Nov. 26. Doors will be closed 10 minutes into each meeting. Required information includes the child's student (lunch) number and the name of the current school and zoned school (for fifth-graders the zoned school is the one they will attend as sixth-graders). Parents who have children on the waiting list must submit a new application but need not attend an orientation. Application cards and portfolio packets will be available in the front office 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 1. The deadline is 4:30 p.m. Dec. 7. Call 797-7024.

Parent night today; book fair Tuesday
The fourth grade Parent Night is 6 p.m. today in the cafeteria. Dinner will be provided by Vulcan Materials. An Accelerated Reader Family Literacy Night/Fall Book Fair is 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the media center.There will be a Halloween parade at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in the courtyard.
