Keep your identity safe from thieves

Learn how to protect yourself against mail and cyber fraud - and shred a few documents while you're at it. A seminar on consumer fraud and identity theft will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Petersburg College's campus at 600 Klosterman Road. Hosted by U.S. Rep. Gus M. Bilirakis, R-Palm Harbor, the seminar will feature law enforcement officials, legal experts and officials from the Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Postal Service. Artist's paintings will be on exhibit

Tarpon Springs artist Christopher Still has finished two murals of Caladesi Island that he created for the new Sandpearl Resort on Clearwater Beach. The two large murals and more than 30 other Still paintings will be on exhibit from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Sandpearl Resort, 500 Mandalay Ave. The show is free and a free shuttle will run from downtown Clearwater. Hours changing for libraries

Starting Monday, the Clearwater Public Library System will change its operating hours for each of the five branches. The Main, East and Countryside branches will be open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The North Greenwood Branch will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Help tidy up the downtown core

Clearwater leaders are searching for volunteers to help clean up the downtown core for the finale of Keep Pinellas Beautiful Inc.'s annual Coastal Cleanup. The event begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at City Hall, 112 S Osceola Ave. and lasts until noon. Bags and litter grabbers will be provided. For information, call Anne Fogarty at (727) 562-4044.
