Region swimming
Admission: $6 per session
Format: Region meets determine state berths, with 24 per event (region winners, plus next overall best times). In diving, the top four in each region advance to state (minimum score of 280).
Class 3A, Region 2
Where: Selby Aquatic Center, Sarasota YMCA
When: Saturday. Girls diving finals start at 11 a.m.; boys finals are at 2:30 p.m. Swimming finals are at 6.
County teams: Countryside, East Lake, Gibbs, Largo, Palm Harbor U., Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg
Swimmers to watch: Boys - Countryside's James Taddeo (200 free), Palm Harbor U.'s Alex Glover (100 fly); Girls - Countryside's Rachel Burns (100, 200 free), Melanie Margalis (200 IM, 100 breast), St. Petersburg's Tracy Rorer (200 IM, 100 breast)
Class 2A, Region 3
Where: North Shore Pool, St. Petersburg
When: Friday. Diving finals start at 1 p.m. at Northeast High. Swimming finals are at 5.
County teams: Boca Ciega, Clearwater, Dixie Hollins, Dunedin, Lakewood, Northeast, Osceola, Seminole, Tarpon Springs
Swimmers to watch: Boys - Clearwater's C.A. Castagna (100 fly, 100 back), Northeast's Cameron Chambers (200, 500 free), P.J. Bennett (diving); Girls - Northeast's Megan Romano (200 free, 100 back), Seminole's Kaitlin Frehling (50 free, 100 fly), Tarpon Springs' Jen Botsch (diving)

Where: Florida Gulf Coast University, Fort Myers
When:Today. Diving finals start at noon. Swimming finals are at 5.
