Whoop it up: Showcase Community Theatre presents High School Musical at 7 p.m. today and at 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday. The show is in the auditorium at 8431 Corporate Way off Little Road, just south of the Massachusetts Avenue intersection, New Port Richey. Tickets are $15 ages 8 and older; $7 ages 7 and younger. Original play: Progress Energy Art Gallery will present the 30-minute radio play Gemma's Angel by local artist Ralph Anna at 7 p.m. Saturday at the gallery. The show is part of the "Never B/4 Seen Halloween Party" and one-night art show from 6 to 10 p.m. at the gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Guests are asked to wear costumes. There will be prizes, games, food and drink. Copies of a CD of the play will be for sale on the day of the party. Admission is $10.
Try-out time: Auditions for the musical The Full Monty will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre, 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson, for age 18 and older. Sign-ups begin at 3:30 p.m. Prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre song and take sheet music; accompanist provided. Production dates are Jan. 4-Feb. 24. Call company manager Todd M. Voices lifted: Thursday Musicale,a nonsectarian women's chorus, will feature singer Stan Prinston at its concert at 2 p.m. Thursday at Living Word Church, 5151 Rowan Road, New Port Richey. Free, but a donation will be accepted for the scholarship fund.
Last day for photo show: Progress Energy Art Gallery's "If the Masters Had Cameras" closes today at 8 p.m. The gallery is at 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. The exhibit is a series of photos made in the style of classical artists. Gallery hours are noon to 8 p.m. Free.
Sew beautiful: West Pasco Quilters Guild continues "Celebrate the Quilt!" through Nov. 28 at Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 101 S Pinellas Ave. (Alt. 19), Tarpon Spring. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. A special quilt demonstration day will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 10, when members show how to quilt, applique, piece fabric and answer questions about quilt storage, hanging and care.
