ST. PETERSBURG - A 70-yard touchdown pass from Lamar Hall to Kevonta Brown on Gibbs' opening drive set the tone early for their rout over Pinellas Park. The Gladiators kept the scorekeeper busy for the remainder of the half. Pinellas Park fumbled the ball at the Patriots' 20-yard line on its opening drive, setting up Devon McCullough's 2-yard touchdown run. The Gladiators added two more touchdowns in the first quarter, while Pinellas Park was held to just 13 yards and no first downs in the quarter. The second quarter didn't start better for the Patriots as Jesse Redden threw an interception to Jacobie Dandy. Gibbs piled on more points with a 48-yard field goal by Tommy Hains and 27-yard reception by Russ. A 27- yard field goal attempt by Gladiators kicker Tommy Hains was blocked on the first drive of the second half. The Patriots responded with an 88-yard drive the was capped with Chris McKinnie's 1-yard touchdown run. McKinnie later added another score, this time from 9 yards out. And recovered an onside kick to threaten again late before turning the ball over on downs. "We have to learn to come out and finish a team off," said Gladiators head coach Yusuf Shakir. "You have to learn how to win. It's a process."
