Riverview 23, Wharton 7

Riverview (3-4) used 31 carries from running back Jahleel Addae to control the clock and keep the big play offense from Wharton on the sidelines as long as it could. Addae scored the go-ahead touchdown off an option pass from quarterback Alex O'Regan and put the game away with an 8-yard score with over two minutes remaining in the contest. "I was proud of the fact that we were down at half and we came back, which we haven't done all year long," Riverview coach Dan O'Regan said. "It was great to have them come back like that." Wharton (5-4) pulled within three plays following Addae's second touchdown when quarterback Andrew Clifford found Dominique White for a 64-yard touchdown. It was the second score of the contest for the duo. The Wildcats were able to stay in the game because of outstanding special teams play. White returned the opening kickoff 83 yards to set up a field goal and Jairus Jones' 61-yard punt return setup White's first touchdown. While Clifford found success through the air late in the game, Riverview took control of the game at the line of scrimmage. Wharton gained -6 yards on 17 carries and through three quarters, managed just two first downs. "How many tackles for a loss did we have? Our defense is playing great," O'Regan said. "We had some blowout losses earlier in the season and they took that kind of personal."
