Sarasota Booker 36, Robinson 0
By JOE SMITH, Times Staff Writer
Published October 27, 2007
The biggest bright spot for Robinson (0-8) Friday night was an emotional halftime ceremony, when the Knights retired the No.2 worn by former star tailback Kwane Doster, who was shot and killed Christmas night in 2004. The school framed Doster's jersey - which was also worn by his brother, Jermaine - and gave it to their mother, Kelly, drawing a large ovation. Doster, a 2002 Robinson grad, moved on to Vanderbilt, where he earned SEC Freshman Player of the Year honors. On Friday, his No. 2 was painted at midfield in black with white outline. "It was an emotional ceremony for all of us," Robinson coach Mike Depue said. "That was our highlight. Other than that, (Booker) owned us." Joe Smith, Times staff writer
