Anniversaries

The Goodins

Charles R. and Saundra M. Goodin celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Oct. 5-7 with a renewal of their wedding vows and a dinner and dance at Tucson's and a dinner on the Starlight Princess. They were married Oct. 5, 1957, at Norview Presbyterian Church, Norfolk, Va., and came here in 1977.

Mrs. Goodin worked for Enterprise Art and Shell Art. Mr. Goodin was chief engineer for Flav-O-Rich Dairies and is plant manager for Reddy Ice.

They have four children and four grandchildren.

The Hodgmans

The Rev. Charles and Christine Hodgman celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Oct. 13, 2007, with a service at Northside Baptist Church. They were married Oct. 13, 1947, at First Baptist Church, Fitchburg, Mass., and moved here in 1986 from Leominster, Mass.

Mrs. Hodgman worked for Norton Co. (now Saint-Gobain) in Worcester, Mass., for 24 years. The Rev. Hodgman served as a Baptist minister in Massachusetts for 40 years and is a visitation pastor at Northside Baptist. Church.

The Portos

John and Margherita Porto celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 9, 2007, with a mass at St. John Vianney Church, St. Pete Beach, and a brunch with friends at the Pasadena Yacht and Country Club. They also took a cruise to Nova Scotia and New England. They were married Sept. 20, 1947, at Shrine of St. Bernadette Church, Brooklyn, N.Y. They lived in New Jersey for 26 years and McLean, Va., for 19 years before moving here in 1994.

They own Kitchen Techniques.

They have four children and 10 grandchildren.

The Rennells

Carlton and Alberta Rennell Sr. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a party hosted by their children and a trip to Fort Myers. They were married Sept. 5, 1947, at United Methodist Church, Gaylordsville, Conn., and came here in 1990 from Plattsburgh, N.Y.

Mrs. Rennell was a Shaklee distributor. Mr. Rennell was a teacher and mayor of Plattsburgh. He is a Navy veteran.

They are members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and have three children, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
