With the haunting season here, Neighborhood Times has compiled a list of things to do.

Haunted house: Open 1-10 p.m. Thursdays and Sundays and 7 p.m.-1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 9945 66th St., Pinellas Park. Refreshments available. $6. A portion of the proceeds benefit Pinellas Park Police Explorers Post No. 912. Call 643-6095. 28 Today Family fun: An afternoon of family activities, 1-7 p.m., 1001 West Bay Drive, Largo. Features inflatable bounce-n-slide, a dunk tank, face painting, balloon animals, and discounts and giveaways from merchants in the plaza. Also book signing by Dean Young, the creator of Blondie. Golf scramble and tennis mixer: Treasure Island hasn't forgotten about the big kids,9-11 a.m. for the golf scramble and 9 a.m.-noon for the tennis mixer, Treasure Bay Golf and Tennis, 10315 Paradise Blvd. The golf scramble is a blind draw and offers a costume contest and giveaways. The tennis mixer features mixed doubles costume contests and giveaways. Bring a snack and BYOB for the after party. Call 360-6062. Howl-O-Fest and Field of Screams at Boyd Hill Nature Park: 6-10 p.m., Environmental Studies Area, 2900 31st St. S. Admission is $2; hayrides $1; rock-climbing wall $3. Howl-O-Fest activities for all ages include the Wizard of Oz kids trail, costume contest, trick or treating, free candy, arts and crafts, music, dancing, fire dance performers, reptile show, temporary tattoos and inflatable games. Field of Screams for teens and young adults begins at dark. Admission is an additional $5. Escape an asylum, enter a maze, go through a ghoulish graveyard and trek the haunted trail through the woods. With a cast of more than 30 characters. Call 892-5060. 31 Wednesday Far Out, Fun, Fall Family Festival: 6-8 p.m., Park Place Wesleyan Church, 4400 70th Ave. N. Call 526-3674. Treats You Can Trust, Halloween in the Park: Treat trail for costumed creatures starting at 6 p.m., Town Square Plaza Park, 52nd Street and 80th Avenue, Pinellas Park. Costume contest with prizes. Categories include: spookiest, prettiest, most handsome, most original and best group. Age groups for the contest are 3 and younger, 4-7, 8-12 and 13-17. No age limit for the best group category. Judging begins about 7:30 p.m. Free. Call 541-0770. Costume ball: Put on your best costume and get ready to swing with the big kids, 8 p.m., Gulfport Casino, 5500 Shore Blvd. S. Special Halloween music and decor, a dancing costume parade, a monster Shim Sham and other spooky treats round out the evening. Swing dance lesson, 7-8 p.m. (no partner required).
