WINN-DIXIE Stores kicks off a busy earnings week, releasing its first-quarter results Monday. After closing 400 of its middle-market stores under a reorganization completed last November, Winn-Dixie is in third place in Florida, behind Wal-Mart and Publix Super Markets Inc. More at winn-dixie.com.

FORMER Gov. Jeb Bush will mix it up with a goodly number of brigadier generals, major generals and lieutenant generals when he gives a keynote speech Tuesday at the U.S. defense industry's annual military communications technology conference, better known as MILCOM. Organizers expect more than 4,000 attendees at the event, which kicks off today at Orlando's Gaylord Palms Resort. It's the first time the conference will be in Florida. LOOK FOR ANOTHER INTEREST RATE CUT after the Federal Reserve wraps up its two-day meeting on Wednesday. As of last week, most investors were betting the central bank would lower the fed funds rate by a quarter of a percentage point. Two issues will be critical to the Fed: Is job growth slowing, and how much worse has the housing market become since its mid-September meeting?

Investors in BARRY DILLER'S IAC/InterActiveCorp hope the company's St. Petersburg's HSN unit is truly on a rebound and avoid unexpected tricks when earnings are released on Wednesday, a.k.a. Halloween. More at www.federalreserve.gov.

How rough has this year been for the Boating Industry? That should become apparent after Clearwater's MarineMax reports its fourth-quarter fiscal earnings Thursday. MarineMax, the country's largest recreational boat retailer, slashed its forecast in the summer, noting that the industry faced its slowest sales in more than 40 years.
