Folk music on tap for the weekend
In the mood for some music? Art Arbor at Boyd Hill Nature Park on Saturday and Sunday will feature bluegrass, acoustic and folk music. Crash kills state wildlife officer
A Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officer died when the ATV she was driving crashed, officials said Sunday. Michelle Lawless, 47, died late Saturday while patrolling the Rotenberger Wildlife Management Area in Broward County.

Officer accused of taking $100,000
A Miami-Dade police officer was arrested and faces a charge of first-degree grand theft, authorities said. Officer Ricardo Toledo, 36, was arrested Saturday after police received a tip. Authorities said Toledo stopped a vehicle carrying $100,000 in cash, took the money and let the motorist go. The driver was an undercover officer. Toledo was not on duty at the time. Police said the officer had previously taken $150 for providing confidential information from a motor vehicle database. The five-year police veteran has been relieved of duty.

Legally blind man shoots intruder
A 75-year-old man who shot an intruder later told officials he did so despite being legally blind. The intruder, an acquaintance, is being charged with burglary and battery. Police say Cevaughn Curtis Jr., 28, knocked on the door of Arthur Williams' home about 3 a.m. Friday and asked to be let inside. When Williams refused, police say Curtis pushed the door in anyway. Williams went into his bedroom, called 911 and then shot Curtis in the neck. Curtis was taken to the hospital and later charged with burglary and aggravated battery on a person over the age of 65.

Ohio man killedin shooting
An Ohio man was fatally shot and two others injured after what deputies believe was a possible robbery gone wrong at a Waffle House restaurant on Saturday. Dustin Conner, 30, of Miamisburg, Ohio, apparently drove out of the restaurant's parking lot under gunfire. He was found nearby at the wheel of his car with gunshot wounds in his back.
