Q. I have a Gateway with Windows XP and SP2 as my operating system. When I attempt to use my System Restore , I get an error message that the system can't find Framedyn.dll. A search can't find a copy on my drive. What is the best way to restore this missing dll file? A. This can occur if the C:\Windows\System32\Wbem\framedyn.dll file is missing or damaged. To replace the Framedyn.dll file, follow these instructions from Microsoft Knowledge Base: - Click Start, and then click Run. - In the Open box, type C:\Windows\system32\dllcache and then click OK. - Right-click framedyn.dll, and then click Copy on the shortcut menu that appears. - Click Start, and then click Run. - In the Open box, type C:\Windows\system32\wbem and then click OK. - On the Edit menu, click Paste. If you are prompted to replace the existing file, click Yes. Q. I bought a HP computer with Windows Vista. Since getting it, I cannot print any of my information from financial sites. I can view it, but when I go to print I get a message saying: Error occurred in the script on this page Line 14 Char 1 Error: Library not registered res./ieframe.dll/preview.dlg After shutting this message down, another comes up for Line 439. I am assuming this is because of being a secured site. I can print everything else. A. This appears to be a bug in Vista/Internet Explorer 7 on some PCs and it may be related to security, which would make sense since you experience the error when you go to secured https sites. Make sure you are up-to-date with Windows Updates, printer drivers and that you've installed all Internet Explorer 7 related updates and patches. One work-around is to disable User Account Control (Control Panel, User Accounts, Turn User Account Control On or Off) or to make sure your account had administrative privilege. Q. I have tried to use your answer to the question on repairing Windows Mail. I was able to do the backup, no problem. When I type my spec into the command window for Repair, Defragment or Integrity, I receive an error message that reads, "Operation terminated with error-1811 (Jet_err File Not Found)." A. The error message is telling you that it cannot find your Windowsmail.messagestore file. Make sure you have the correct file designation. The example I provided was: esentutl /g "C:\Users\your-username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\windowsmail.msmessagestore" Make sure you change the "your-username" from the example to your Windows user name. To test and make sure you have the correct folder designation, try this: Click start, Run. In the run line, paste the folder designation and click OK. On my PC it would be: "C:\Users\john\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\" This should open up a file explorer window in your Windows Mail folder.
