Halloween carnival: Games, light refreshments and other fun activities 6-8 p.m. today at Clearwater Beach Recreation Center, 69 Bay Esplande. Game tickets are 10 for $1. Each game requires one ticket. Free. Call (727) 462-6138.

All Howlers Eve: Join in the extravagant pet/owners costume parade and wild and wacky pet costume contests 6:30-9 p.m. today at the Southwest Complex basketball courts, 13120 Vonn Road, Largo. $5 per dog, $15 per vendor. Call (727) 518-3125.

Attention ghosts & goblins: Go trick or treating, bob for apples, get your face painted or tarot cards read, travel the haunted forest and enjoy food and music at 7:15 p.m. today at the Clearwater Center, 1270 Turner St., Clearwater. Call (727) 443-7639.

Creepy critters: The whole family can learn about Halloween favorites like owls, spiders and bats, take a night hike and hear stories from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brooker Creek Environmental Education Center, 3940 Keystone Road, Tarpon Springs. Free. Registration required. Call (727) 453-6800.

Children's costume parade: Kids can wear their costumes and gather at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Youth Department of the Clearwater Main Library, 100 N Osceola Ave., for a parade and trick or treating around the library. Free. Call (562) 4970, ext. 5244.

Halloween alternative: The Upper Pinellas County Ministerial Alliance Family Fun Night is from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Greenwood Panther Field on Holt Avenue, Clearwater, across from the old Martin Luther King Jr. Center. Daytime trick or treating: Shop, be entertained and go trick or treating at the final Downtown Clearwater Summertime Marketplace from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Clearwater City Hall, 112 S Osceola Ave. Choose from products including produce, pumpkins, gourmet coffees, clothing, smoothies, ice cream and more.
