Air Force Airman Cherrell S. Bernard, daughter of Samuel Bernard of Pinellas Park, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. She is a 2007 graduate of Dixie M. Hollins High School.

Army Pvt. Kristal Nicole Gow, daughter of Cheryl and Thomas Gow Sr. of St. Petersburg, recently completed basic training at Fort Jackson, S.C. She is a senior in the Criminal Justice Academy magnet program at Pinellas Park High School.

Navy Lt. Tiffany E. Ashton, daughter of Shirley Ogle and stepdaughter of David Ogle of Seminole, recently reported for duty at Naval Hospital, Jacksonville. She is a 1998 graduate of Dixie Hollins High School and joined the Navy in May 2007.

Navy Ensign Priti V. Nath Iymni, daughter of Iqbal and Dr. I.V.S. Nath of Seminole, has been accepted to the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. She is a 2000 graduate of Shorecrest High School and a 2004 graduate of Emory University, Atlanta, and earned a master's degree at Boston University in 2006.

Marine Corps Pvt. Michael J. Sparacino, son of Anthony J. Sparacino of Seminole, has completed basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.

These recruits have graduated from basic combat training at Fort Knox, Ky.:

Army Pvt. Travares Lucas, son of Cherly Latelers of St. Petersburg and a 2004 graduate of Lakewood High School.

Army Pvt. Lamont Wright, son of Lamont Wright of St. Petersburg and a 2006 graduate of Gibbs High School.

These recruits have graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.:

Army Pvt. Tyler J. Huegel, son of Craig Huegel of Seminole and Valarie Huegel of Palm Harbor and a 2002 graduate of East Lake High School, Tarpon Springs.

Army Pfc. Jason Scowden, son of Sue Scowden of Gulfport and a 2006 graduate of Tampa Bay Tech High School, Tampa.
