Southern Hills: The golf club raised almost $3,000 to benefit the Monique Burr Foundation for Children and the Spring of Tampa Bay with a charity golf tournament. Since 2005, Southern Hills has raised more than $58,000 for children in the Tampa Bay area.
The tournament's first place winners were club member and Monique Burr Foundation board member Ed Bulleit along with his team of Paul Dellegatto, Kevin Hubert and Dr. Gene Ring. Second place was awarded to member Steve Erick, sales manager for Southern Hills Plantation Club, who played with guests Steve Combs, Dave Milliman and Marty Martinson. Third place went to members Jim Harvey and Jeff Thorson, along with Doug Draper and Jeff Huenink.
The tournament, which allowed the rare chance for nonmembers to play as guests, raised $1,500 for the Spring and $1,250 for the Burr foundation.
