One horse dies, one hurt after shooting

Huge weathermen banners, deemed illegal, removed
The giant weathermen will no longer smile down upon Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa from banners on the Fox 13 tower. The TV station, set to appear before the code enforcement board next week, has taken down the banners featuring Paul Dellegatto and Dave Osterberg. The city cited WTVT-Ch. 13 in April for illegal signs, in a case similar to the one that forced removal of huge campaign banners featuring Charlie Crist on buildings in downtown Tampa and St. Petersburg during last year's campaign. Fox 13 asked for two different interpretations of the law. Both times the city ruled the banners needed to come down.
Teller helps police catch robbery suspect
A Daytona Beach bank teller helped capture a man Monday who had tried to rob the bank earlier in the day, authorities said. The teller at a SunTrust bank was leaving work when she saw the suspect in south Daytona, police said. Earlier in the day, the man had tried to open a bank account but didn't have proper identification. He later came back with a note. The teller, however, was unable to make out what the note said. The man said he wanted money, then apologized, said he was on medication, and asked for the note back. The man was arrested and booked into the Volusia County Jail under the name John Doe on charges of attempted armed robbery.
