Make me a . . . Pumpkin Martini

Are you one of those adults who will be sitting on the porch tonight, cackling away in full witch's costume? Or do you turn off the lights and hide in the back of the house, risking tricks for not giving out treats?

Either way, you're going to get thirsty. While the kids slurp black punch and "boo brews," mix up something a bit more sophisticated for the adults. This pumpkin martini looks and smells like pumpkin pie with just a hint of sweetness.

Pumpkin Martini

1 ounce vodka, chilled

1 ounce vanilla liqueur

11/2 ounces orange juice

1 tablespoon pumpkin puree

Pinch cinnamon

Pinch nutmeg

Peep (optional)

- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add the vodka, vanilla liqueur, orange juice, pumpkin puree and a pinch of cinnamon. Shake well and strain into a cocktail or martini glass. Garnish with a pinch of nutmeg. Garnish with a ghostly Halloween Peep. If you dare.
