Spring Hill Fire Rescue District will have a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. today at district headquarters, 3445 Bob Hartung Court. The contract with the Spring Hill Professional Firefighters will be discussed. For information, call 688-5030.

Learn landscaping meant for Florida
Hernando County Utilities and Citizens for WATER will host the first session in the 2008 Hernando County Water Awareness Series from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at the Utilities Department, 21030 Cortez Blvd. The topic is "Florida-Friendly Landscaping, One Step at a Time." The speaker will be Florida Yards and Neighborhoods program coordinator John Korycki, who will discuss Florida-friendly landscape practices and the importance of rain barrels. Memory Mobile traveling this week
The Alzheimer's Association will have its Memory Mobile available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Regions Bank, 1290 S Broad St. This is a traveling office that provides information and referral services, consultation, and memory screenings for caregivers and people with memory-related disorders. The office will also visit the Brooksville Enrichment Center, 607 S Broad St., on Friday, and Linda Pedersen Park, 6400 Shoal Line Blvd., Hernando Beach both days from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Moms-to-be can attend for free
Free tickets are still available for the Pregnancy Party that will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Jerome Brown Community Center, 99 Jerome Brown Place, off Darby Lane.
