Relay for Life teams meet Monday night
Spring Hill Relay for Life kick-off meeting will be at 6 p.m. Monday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 6193 Spring Hill Drive.
Teams are reminded to bring table top decorations.

Vendors demo day set at World Woods Club
World Woods Golf Club will host a demo day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
The event will include free lunch and drinks, while supplies last. There will be multiple vendors selling golfing goods.

Donate blood at health fair, Moose Lodge
The LifeSouth Community Blood Bank bloodmobile is scheduled to be at these locations this weekend:
- 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at Brooksville Cardiology's Family Health Fair at Linda Pedersen Park, 6400 Shoal Line Blvd., Hernando Beach. Blood donors will receive a recognition gift and a cholesterol screening. Bring lawn chairs and blankets.
- Moose Lodge 1676 blood drive, 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday, 17129 Wiscon Road, Brooksville. Blood donors will receive a breakfast, as well as a recognition gift item and complimentary cholesterol screening.
To donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and show a valid photo ID. For information, call LifeSouth at 596-2002.

Scuba lessons for swimmers, 12 and up
Scuba lessons are available for adults and youths 12 and older starts Tuesday at the Hernando County Family YMCA, 1300 Mariner Blvd. Lessons will be from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The course includes six class and pool sessions. Participants must be in good physical health. Upon completion, participants will be certified as open-water scuba divers.
The certified instructors are Jack Farrell and Mark Butler.
The cost is $120 for YMCA facility and program members and $140 for nonmembers, payable to the YMCA; there is a fee of $60 for the use of scuba equipment, payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Participants must have a mask, fins and a snorkel.

Angel on High event needs decorators
The Spring Hill Community Association needs individuals, schools, organizations and businesses to participate in the Angels on High holiday event.
Participants design and display decorated angels, which will be on display Dec. 13 to 16 on the Lake House grounds, 1202 Kenlake Ave.

Time to pick a date for holiday concert
Hernando Symphony Orchestra will present its holiday concert series, Where is Christmas?, on the following days:
- 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1, Hernando Performing Arts Center, 700 Bell Ave., Brooksville.
- 2 p.m. Dec. 2 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4, Springstead Theatre, 3300 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill.

Gardening calendar has tips for everyone
The 2008 Hernando County Master Gardener Calendar is available.
The calendar features month-by-month expert advice on central Florida landscaping of interest to beginners as well as longtime gardeners.
The calendars are $3 each and can be purchased at the Hernando County Cooperative Extension Service, 19490 Oliver St., Brooksville, or at the office in the Westside Government Center at 7479 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. For information, call 754-4433.
