New York - Defenseman Bryan Berard (groin), wing Jon Sim (knee) and center Shawn Bates (abdominal strain) are out. Key stats: The Lightning, 4-4-1 last season in the second of back-to-back games, beat the Flyers 5-2 in its only back-end game this season. ... The Lightning is 8-0 against the Islanders over the past two seasons and outscored them 9-4 in two wins on Long Island last season. ... With Johan Holmqvist starting Wednesday, the Lightning might go with Marc Denis, who is 2-0-1 with a 1.95 goals-against average against the Islanders but didn't face them last season. Holmqvist was 4-0 with a 2.20 GAA against them last season. ... Mike Comrie leads the Islanders with 11 points (five goals and six assists) followed by Bill Guerin's 10 (four goals and six assists).
