Hillsborough 35, Tampa Bay Tech 6

TAMPA - Junior running back Lindsey Lamar rushed for 171 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown and Hillsborough (8-2, 3-1) clinched a Class 4A, District 11 playoff berth with a victory against Tampa Bay Tech (5-4, 1-3).
The Terriers earned a regional berth on Nov. 16 by finishing second to Armwood in district.
Hillsborough used a relentless ground attack to take a 28-6 halftime lead, rushing for 262 yards on 27 attempts. Lamar led the way with 159 yards before intermission, including runs of 65 and 50 yards. His touchdown came on a 24-yard run with 4:33 left in the second quarter after Tampa Bay Tech's Steven Patsalos scored on a 6-yard fumble return to shave Hillsborough's lead to 14-6.
The Terriers finished with 311 yards rushing on 43 attempts.
Hillsborough drove for touchdowns on its first two series. Iziah Wyche's 3-yard run capped a 70-yard, eight-play drive, and a 15-yard scoring run by Marc Thomas ended a 69-yard, seven-play drive for the Terriers.
Wyche had two touchdowns. Eric Fennell also scored for Hillsborough.
Quarterback Mario Tucker led Tampa Bay Tech with 85 yards rushing on 16 carries.
Hillsborough's defense forced four turnovers (two interceptions and two fumble recoveries).
Tampa Bay Tech closes its season Friday at King.
