The Newsome Wolves (5-5, 1-3) wrapped up their season in dramatic fashion with an exciting victory against the Bloomingdale Bulls (2-7, 0-4). Wolves quarterback Kyle Parker threw the game-winning 32-yard touchdown pass to Evan O'Connor on fourth-and-10 with 4:22 left in the game. "We needed to go for it so we could swing the momentum our way." said Newsome head coach Kenneth Hiscock. The winning touchdown was aided by an interference penalty that allowed Newsome to start at the Bulls 44-yard line. Penalties were a problem for Bloomingdale all night, wracking up 10 yellow flags for 85 yards. With 2:30 left in the game and two timeouts in their pocket, the Bulls faced fourth-and-10 at the Wolves 45 and elected to punt the ball. The Bulls got the ball back, but with only 12 seconds remaining and no timeouts. "There was plenty of time left and I felt we could get the ball back with enough time left" said Bulls coach Corey Brinson on the decision to punt the ball late. Newsome running back Connor Powers had 23 carries for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Bloomingdale quarterback Shane Geyer had a strong game, connecting on 13 of his 26 passes for 174 yards.
