County plans seminar on funding college

COUNTYWIDE Learn all about securing financial aid for college at a seminar held by Pinellas County schools. Topics will include the Florida Bright Futures scholarship program, organizing a financial aid search, and types of government grants and loans. The seminar will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Lakewood High, 1400 54th Ave. S. ST. PETERSBURG Event celebrates food in Latin culture Florida Craftsmen is hosting "Thanksgiving con Sabor," or "Thanksgiving with Flavor," a celebration of the role of food in the craft, art and culture of the Spanish community, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the gallery, 501 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. Food for the evening will be prepared by De Santo Latin American Bistro from favorite recipes of artists participating in "A New Cornucopia," which closes Friday. The show is part of ARTE2007, which features the work of 10 Spanish-speaking artists from eight countries. Admission is free. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
