ST. PETERSBURG - Indian Rocks Christian scored seven touchdowns in the first half and rolled past Admiral Farragut Academy on Saturday afternoon.

"The defense played extremely well," coach Mark Buchanan said. "They pitched the shutout."

The offense scored all 47 of its points in the first half and worked on running out the clock in the second half.

Quarterback Matt Oliphant threw a pair of touchdown passes - one to Ryan Mercado and one to Steven Scholl. Oliphant also intercepted a pass and returned it for a score.

Lou Mason added two rushing touchdowns, Jonny Sitton scored on a 30-yard touchdown run, and backup quarterback Blake Farver scored a rushing touchdown.

Ethan Englebert highlighted the day with 145 yards rushing but was held out of the end zone.

The Eagles improved to 6-3 with the victory and spoiled homecoming festivities for Admiral Farragut, which fell to 2-7.
