Back when it was a small town

This photo of downtown New Port Richey was apparently taken in the mid 1920s. The street running from the lower left corner of the picture is Main Street. At the time, Main Street did not extend much beyond Dixie Highway, which is now Grand Boulevard. At least four buildings in this photo still exist. The dark building in the middle of the picture is the H. H. Havens Building (1915), later the Chasco Inn. Also visible are the Clark Building (1922), which now houses the Karl Reef, the Milbauer Building (1919) and the Sims Building (1922), which now houses Tri-Arts Studio Inc.
