Walk raises aids awareness, shoe funds

New Port Richey A Walk for a Cause to raise AIDS awareness and help fight poverty in Africa will be at 10 a.m. Tuesdayat the New Port Richey campus of Pasco-Hernando Community College, 10230 Ridge Road. This event is free and open to the public. Walkers can participate either barefoot or wearing shoes. Barefoot walkers will be symbolizing all of the children in Africa who do not have shoes. Information will be available on AIDS awareness and TOMS Shoes. TOMS matches every pair of shoes purchased with a donated pair to a child in need. Countywide Roundtable looks at county issues The American Association of University Women West Pasco Branch is hosting a Legislative Roundtable at 11 a.m. Nov. 10 in the Beacon Square Civic Association at 3741 Bancroft Drive, Holiday. State legislators, Pasco County commissioners and others have been invited to participate in discussing issues affecting Pasco County. The event is open to the public. Holiday Two Kiwanis clubs merge in county The Kiwanis Club of Holiday and the Kiwanis Club of West Pasco have announced that they have merged and the new club will be called the Kiwanis Club of Greater West Pasco.
