Why do NFL quarterbacks have a green dot or circle on the back of their helmets? I have not noticed it on any other player.

The green dots allow game officials to identify quarterbacks who have coach-to-quarterback radio communication devices in their helmets. Only one quarterback with the device can be on the field at a time and all NFL teams are using them.
