Newsmakers
- Dianne Manczak has been named Teacher of the Year at Calusa Elementary School. Other nominees were Doug DeTiberus and Robin Fish. Jill Hartman was named School Related Personnel of the Year. Also nominated was Sarah Maloney.
- Cadet Private Heather N. Smith was selected as JROTC Cadet of the Month at Hudson High School.
- Mitchell High teacher, Jennifer Lynch was the recipient of the prestigious American Federation of Teachers Robert G. Porter Scholarship grant. Lynch also was selected by the Junior Statesman Foundation, as one of the top 15 Junior State of America Teacher Advisors in the nation. Mrs. Lynch currently teaches Debate I and II and sponsors the Mitchell Junior State of America Debate team.
