It's the season for pneumonia and flu shots
The Hernando County Health Department will offer a flu/pneumonia shot clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Heather clubhouse, 9100 Nakoma Way, north of Weeki Wachee. Shots will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Flu shots are $25; pneumonia shots are $35. Medicare, cash and personal checks will be accepted. For information, call 540-6800, ext. 82052.

Workshops to help with holiday grief
Hernando-Pasco Hospice will offer 90-minute workshops on how to cope during the holidays. The free workshops are for adults who have recently experienced the loss of a loved one, and are led by bereavement counselors. The workshops will be at 2 and 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Hospice West Hernando office, 12260 Cortez Blvd., Spring Hill; and at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hospice East Hernando office, 698 S Broad St., Brooksville. If you go bowling, children will win
Bowlers, sponsors and volunteers are needed for the benefit Bowl-A-Thon for the Our Baby RIA Foundation, which will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Spring Hill Lanes, 3447 Commercial Way. There will be prize giveaways for bowlers. Each bowler is asked to raise or donate at least $30. Teams of five players will play three games. Shoe rental is included. Our Baby RIA Foundation is a nonprofit organization trying to get a pediatric intensive care facility to service children of Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties.
