PHU 35, Pinellas Park 22

PINELLAS PARK - Palm Harbor University ended its season on a winning note after dismantling Pinellas Park 35-22. The Hurricanes (4-6) ran roughshod over the vaunted Patriots' defense for 211 total rushing yards. Dajaun Bush accounted for 193 all-purpose yards (160 on the ground) and five touchdowns. Pinellas Park (2-8) opened up the scoring on Mike Smith's 4 yard touchdown run. On the ensuing possession, PHUanswered right back with a Bush 5-yard scamper into the end zone. After a Barry Owens interception at midfield, quarterback Sean Shelton found Bush over the middle for a 30-yard touchdown connection and a 15-7 Hurricane halftime lead. PHU used the dangerous combination of Bush and Ryan Shelton to wear down the befuddled Patriot defense in the second half. Touchdowns runs of 4 and 29 by Bush upped the Hurricane lead to 29-7 after three quarters. PHU punished quarterback Jesse Redden and the Patriots offense by forcing seven sacks and two interceptions. After a 12-yard touchdown run by Redden cut the deficit to 29-15 early in the fourth quarter, the Hurricanes solidified the victory when Bush plowed his way in from a yard out. "We fought hard the entire game, and it was important for us to finish 4-6. Bush gained some tough yards for us in the second half," said PHU coach Pete Just.

Jesse Redden is a great quarterback and should start for the South County All-Stars. My opinion.
