Hudson's Wynn may miss playoffs The Hudson football program received a stunning blow Friday less than five hours before the start of its regular-season finale against Crystal River. Hudson QB Zack Wynn, who practiced all week on what he thought was a torn meniscus, was told by a doctor's office he actually tore his ACL.
The sophomore, who has completed 102 of 168 passes for 1,698 yards with 20 touchdowns and four interceptions this season, was barred from playing Friday.
Wynn injured the knee in the Cobras' win over Zephyrhills last week.
"If he didn't think he'd be grounded the rest of his life from his mom, and we'd be in court, he would have been on the field," Hudson coach Mark Nash said.
Wynn's status for the region quarterfinal at Harmony is doubtful. But Nash said he doesn't know the full prognosis. Wynn only saw a physician's assistant Friday and might not see a doctor until Tuesday. It isn't clear if the ACL is completely or partially torn.
"It was a mess last night," Nash said. "The physician's assistant told us there might be a chance with a brace he might be able to get through. But I don't know. Right now, we're scratching our heads."
