Jewish Book Day at the Tampa Jewish Community Center, 13009 Community Campus Drive, Tampa, will begin at 10 a.m. today. A brunch with Gloria Goldreich (Leah's Journey and Dinner With Anna Karenina) is at 11 a.m. The book fair and Hanukkah Shopping Bazaar, along with children's events, are free. The brunch is $36. As part of its Presidential Events Series, Eckerd College, 4200 54th Ave. S, St. Petersburg, presents "An Evening with Nikki Giovanni" at 7 p.m. Thursday in Fox Hall. The event is open to the public. Giovanni's work includes Gemini, Blues: For All the Changes, Quilting the Black-Eyed Pea, Rosa and Acolytes. She is a University Distinguished Professor at Virginia Tech University. "An Evening With the Authors" will be held Friday at the Clearwater Main Library, 100 Osceola Ave. The featured author is Jeff Klinkenberg, St. Petersburg Times columnist and author of Seasons of Real Florida.
