Meals on Wheels/senior menus

Pasco County operates nine congregate dining sites that offer a nutritious meal and various program activities. There is no charge for these meals, but donations are requested. Additionally, Pasco County delivers meals to homes of the frail elderly through two programs: The Elderly Nutrition Program meal is offered for a donation only. The Meals on Wheels program requires a registration fee and a $5 fee per meal. All meals include low-fat milk. Call to register. Today: Tomato soup, hamburger patty with ketchup, baked beans with tomato bits, fiesta corn, hamburger bun with margarine, applesauce.

Wednesday: Pasta primavera casserole, lemon spinach, carrot cuts, tossed salad with French dressing, whole wheat bread with margarine, diced peaches.

Thursday: A birthday celebration. Chicken breast coq au vin, garlic mashed potatoes, green peas, whole wheat bread with margarine. Congregate diners will have birthday cake and ice cream. Home delivered birthday cake and pudding.

Friday: Swedish meatballs with brown gravy, wild rice au gratin, winter medley vegetables, whole wheat bread with margarine, diced mixed fruit.
