Get your winter shots at clinic on Thursday

BROOKSVILLE
The Hernando County Health Department will offer a flu/pneumonia shot clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 20428 Cortez Blvd.
Shots will be given first-come, first-served. Flu shots are $25; pneumonia shots are $35. Medicare, cash and personal checks will be accepted.
Shots can also be obtained at the Health Department offices at 300 S Main St., Brooksville, and 7465 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. Shots are offered from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Appointments are required. Call 540-6800.
SPRING HILL
Fall Harvest of Artis this weekend
The Spring Hill Art League's 34th annual Fall Harvest of Art will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Outlet Shopping Mall, 3201 Commercial Way.
This is a juried show that will feature local and regional artists in various fine arts and crafts. The event will also feature children's activities, entertainment, raffles and food and drink. Admission is free.

Housing Authority throwing two parties
Brooksville Housing Authority will host two events on Friday:
- Summit Dessert Day, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch will be served. Bring a favorite dessert to share.
- Community Thanksgiving Day, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Food and drinks will be served.
Both events will be at the Summit Villas recreation hall, 800 Continental Drive. For information, call 754-4160.

Grandparents raising children are invited
A Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Forum will be from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Nov. 28 at Silverthorn Country Club, 4550 Golf Course Lane.
The free event is sponsored by the Department of Elder Affairs, Mid Florida Community Services and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. It is designed to raise awareness of the services and support systems available to grandparents who are raising their grandchildren.

Family Care Council will meet on Monday
The Area 13 Family Care Council will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the Florida Department of Children and Families, 1601 W Gulf Atlantic Highway (State Road 44).

Marine Corps League Detachment 708 is providing the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots Program in Hernando County. Bins are now set up at various locations around the county, where donations of new, unwrapped toys can be dropped off.
